Projects

AABS has previously run several successful projects, including a biblical studies essay competition for students at Episcopal seminaries. A prize of $250 and two years of free membership in the AABS were awarded for the best paper in biblical exegesis written by a student attending a seminary of the ECUSA or AAC. The 2011 Student prize was shared by Jonathan Kanary (Nashotah House) for “Salt and Fire: An Exegesis of Mark 9:42-50”  and Martin Elfert (Church Divinity School of the Pacific) for “The Breaking of the Symbols of Permanence: Jeremiah’s Sign-Acts as Theater and Liturgy.”

AABS also sponsored a series of popular commentaries on biblical texts, Conversations with Scripture.
